Registrations Open for Sport Summit

The INAS Glob­al Games pro­vides the ide­al back­drop for peo­ple around the world to join glob­al lead­ers and key influ­encers in the world of inclusion.

An inter­na­tion­al line up of sport experts address­ing the top­ic Inclu­sion – What Mat­ters in the Future head­lines the Inter­na­tion­al Sport Sum­mit, held at Brisbane’s icon­ic Sun­corp Sta­di­um, which pre­cedes the 2019 Bris­bane INAS Glob­al Games.

This Sum­mit is an amaz­ing oppor­tu­ni­ty to col­lec­tive­ly and enthu­si­as­ti­cal­ly address the impor­tance of inclu­siv­i­ty in sport. The INAS Glob­al Games are a bea­con for encour­ag­ing ath­letes to shine on the ath­let­ics fields with the focus on their immense abil­i­ty,” says Robyn Smith, CEO of the 2019 Bris­bane INAS Glob­al Games.

This is a gath­er­ing of like-mind­ed sport­ing lead­ers from around the world all lob­by­ing to increase inclu­sive path­ways for ath­letes at all lev­els. Their chal­lenge for sport to be inclu­sive of all, will be impor­tant in deter­min­ing the future of the move­ment,” adds Smith.

Pres­i­dent of the Inter­na­tion­al Par­a­lympic Fed­er­a­tion, Andrew Par­sons from Brazil joins the founder of the UK Frost Includ­ed, Stephen Frost and Pro­fes­sor Jen­nifer McTavish from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Ryer­son in Cana­da in chal­leng­ing the Sports world to look at new and inven­tive ini­ti­ates allow­ing greater access for all to sport.

Kate Palmer, CEO of Sport Aus­tralia and Lynne Ander­son, CEO of Par­a­lympics Aus­tralia will add their expe­ri­ence of the Aus­tralian sport­ing land­scape as well as a num­ber of lead­ing speak­ers shar­ing their expe­ri­ences in cre­at­ing oppor­tu­ni­ties for those with a disability.

After lis­ten­ing to pre­sen­ta­tions from a wide vari­ety of pre­sen­ters includ­ing ath­letes and coach­es with dis­abil­i­ties, del­e­gates will be chal­lenged to use the infor­ma­tion and dis­cus­sions from the two days and be involved in deter­min­ing what key steps and actions can be tak­en to improve sports inclu­sion. These out­comes will form the basis of a com­mu­niqué to mon­i­tor change lead­ing to the next INAS Glob­al Games event.

Reg­is­tra­tion for the two-day Sum­mit is now open and with a lim­it­ed num­ber of par­tic­i­pant spaces avail­able, inter­est­ed appli­cants should book early.
