Learning to swim at the age of three, Nelson Bay’s Taylor Corry has always felt an affinity to water. After competing at the Global Games in 2011, Corry upped her training to successfully represent Australia at the 2012 London Paralympics, multiple World Championships and Para Pan Pacific Championships.
In her first appearance at the Paralympics, Corry claimed two individual silver medals in the 100m backstroke and 200m freestyle.
At the most recent Para Pan Pacific Championships in Cairns, the 24-year-old snared four gold medals in what was an amazing display of racing. Training under Tom Davis at Nelson Bay Swim Club, Corry will compete at her third World Championships in 2019. Corry is also a qualified lifeguard and swim instructor.
